ADMISSION POLICY
The main factor, which we have to take into consideration when deciding which children can be offered a place at Pili Pala, is that we can only allocate places where we have known spaces. Although priority will be given to children requiring full time places. We always adhere to equal opportunities in our admissions. Please see our admission policy for further details.
ADDITIONAL NEEDS
We will strive to offer a place to a child with additional needs (including special educational needs and disabilities) providing we can offer an adequate level of support to them, following a consultation with parents/carers and any support workers. If a higher staff ratio than the normal requirement for his/her age group is required, then we would only be able to offer this if external funding is available. We would make every effort possible to supply specialist equipment that may be required. We are prepared to send staff on any relevant training courses than would help with caring for any additional needs. Kate Trollope and Rebecca Eynon are our nursery’s Additional Learning Needs Coordinators.
CURICCULUM FOLLOWED
At Pili Pala we strongly believe that children learn through play, we provide a wide range of fun and stimulating activities both indoors and outdoors that will promote each child’s holistic development. We are currently following is the Birth-Three matters curricula and also incorporate the foundation phase curricula for children in the over three age range. For further information please see our curriculum policy.
PETS
At Pili Pala we understand the importance of widening our children’s knowledge and understanding of the wider world. At the nursery we currently have two different types of pets: chickens and fish. The animals within Pili Pala have received the necessary vaccinations and have Regular visits from the local vets to check their health and well being.
